Meet Ericka

My favorite thing about living in Haiti is experiencing the tough life and many challenges everyday, but surpassing them.
The youth of Haiti can change the future of Haiti by promoting more education and teaching each other how to love and care for one another more.
Americans would be surprise to know that Haiti is not all about the poverty, but being Haitian makes you strong. Some people don’t have all the materials they need to live a good life, but they are happy anyway.

Haitian women have an originality that no other women in the world has. Haitian women love to stay close their roots and they are proud of themselves thick or thin. I’d tell Haitian women to always be proud of our toughness and our beauty, because black is beautiful.

It is important to me to make other women feel beautiful, because in this world, us women have to go through so much even as young girls. There is such an oppressive outlook on women and it makes us feel so much pressure and also makes us feel like we’re not enough. The feeling of not being enough results in us not feeling beautiful, but we are all beautiful in our own ways and in every shade.
I want women to know that no matter where they come from, what language they speak, who they are, They are all BEAUTIFUL!

My uniqueness, my love for God, my intelligence, my beauty, my style, and my Haitian roots make me feel very beautiful.
My favorite color is Black. Some people would place black as a sad or depressing color, but black for me is a confident color. No other shade or color can conquer black. Black has no other shade that can take away from it and it has so much deepness, that’s what makes it even more beautiful.
I am proud of my shade of black, my thickness and my beauty

The best things about being a pastors daughter is that it opens many doors for you. You get to meet many Christian artists, pastors, and missionaries from around the world.
The most challenging thing about being a pastors daughter is the criticism from a great amount of people. As a pastors daughter I am expected to be perfect/walking in a straight line at all times.
But I am thankful for being a pastor’s daughter, because I get to grow more in the word of God day by day.

My mother is a very beautiful woman.
She is everything a woman would want to be: Physically and spiritually.
She is my Role model.
My mother is very forgiving and has such and open and sensitive heart.
Her smile is wonderful,
her eyes are lightening,
when she smiles my heart smiles.
She has sacrificed so much for me.
My mother always makes sure that I have for myself even if she doesn’t have for herself.
